Mowing

Our plan includes 32 cuts per year
February

* Begin pruning trees and shrubs (late February, depending on weather)

March

* Treat beds prior to mulching with granular herbicide (Snap Shot, Treflan, etc.)
* Fertilize all trees and shrubs with Nursery Special slow release 12-6-6
* Re-mulch all bed areas at an approximate thickness of 1 to 1.5 inches
* Finish pruning trees and shrubs (remove dead wood)
* Fertilize lawn areas with crabgrass preventer and high nitrogen

April

* Deep root fertilize trees with 8-12-12 slow release fertilizer
* Install Spring annuals after bulbs have bloomed
* Fertilize lawn areas with 19-3-6 and Dimension

May

* Spot spray and/or hand weed planted areas
* Remove dead blooms from annual beds
* Prune flowering shrubs after blooms fade
* Fertilize annual plantings
* Fertilize lawn areas with high nitrogen/weed killer

June

* Treat beds to control weed growth in planting areas (spot spray as necessary). Weed beds weekly.
* Remove dead blossoms from annual beds

July

* Treat beds to control weed growth in planting areas/weed beds weekly
* Spot spray weeds in lawn areas as needed

August

* Treat beds to control weed growth in planting areas/weed beds weekly
* Second treatment of herbicide beds prior to seeding of turf
* Fertilize lawn with 24-5-11

September

* Spot weed planted areas
* Aeration and overseed with Lesco Transition Blend Fescue or customer request
* Re-mulch all flower beds
* Install seasonal annuals (pansies, etc.) and fertilize

October

* Apply fall fertilizer (18-24-12)
* Remove dead leaves

November

* Remove dead leaves

December

* Remove dead leaves off lawn and flower beds
* Fertilize lawn areas with 32-3-8
